Reflexology
Reflexology is a specialized form of foot massage that is related to the Chinese practice of acupressure. The theory underlying this therapy is that different areas on the sole of the foot represent, and are connected to, the body's internal organ system. By systematically putting pressure on these points, symptoms such as pain, constipation and sickness can be relieved. Many people report that a simple foot massage can reduce tension and pain. Properly trained reflexologists may be able to help with some symptoms of cancer as well as the side effects of cancer treatment. Chi Reflexology is also available which is a very gentle but effective type of energy work done through the feet. This is particularly useful for those who have foot sensitivity or would prefer not to have pressure (as in traditional Reflexology) applied to the feet.
